Educational Brain Breaks & Fun Learning Activities
BrainPOPJr. - This can be accessed through Clever. Students can explore a variety of videos about reading, math, social studies, science, and health. I have included some fun and simple assignments for your child to complete.
Other Sight Word Activities - In addition to going through the powerpoint, here are some additional sight word practice ideas:
Write words in shaving cream on a table or flat surface
Put 10 different words in alphabetical order
Write sentences using sight words
Flashlight Tag - Write sight words on pieces of paper and tape them around the room. Whatever word your flashlight shines on, have your child practice saying instantly.
Use PlayDoh to form the letters and build words
Flashcards - Write the words on index cards and review 5-10 a night
Sight Word Hunt - Search for and read sight words hidden throughout the house
Popsicle Sticks - Write the sight words on popsicle sticks. Write "Dynamite!" on a couple sticks. Put them in a jar or cup and pull them out one-by-one and read the word. If you pull "Dynamite!" you have to put all sticks back in the jar.
